| I'm not aware of any, as it is really early days. The first are likely to be those transferring from BS15000 certification. |

Congratulations from us too. It's extremely impressive to be so quick off the mark. |

| I work for Northrop Grumman and we have also obtained our ISO 20000 Certification. I was in charge of the project. |

Congratulations. Did the organization receiving the certification have any previous quality certifications - ISO9000 or Six Sigma? Can you tell me about the effort required - number of man hours from start to certification - e.g., team of 10 people 10 months? |

We did not have any previous quality certifications. We went through implementing ITIL the year prior but did not have anything like Six Sigma, CMMI or ISO. Took us a year with a team of 12 people.
You will need to determine where you are at in the maturity model and scope from there. It is important to understand how well your processes are integrated.
I would recommend understanding the ISO 20000 requirements first and map it back to your current environment. Then do a gap analysis to understand where you need to focus your efforts. Best of luck. |

| Thanks so much for that information. It is really helpful. We have looking into eSCM-SP for a while, and went through a pilot against that model. Following the pilot we estimated we needed an additional 5000 man hours to close the gaps. |

I'd like to know if there are any organizations in the gulf or middle east region that are ISO 20000 certified.
Also I'd like to know the procedures to announce or the website where we can list an organization which is ISO 20000 certified.
I'd appreciate some response ASAP.
Thanks and Best Regards, |

I am interested to know which maturity model you used in this instance. |

|
|
I recently contacted various sources to find out how many companies worldwide had already been ISO/IEC 20000 registered, including (if possible) breakdown by industry sector and geographic region, but was unsuccessful in coming up with any up-to-date info.
Does anyone have any information on whether or not these statistics are readily available and if so, how I can access them? Thanks! |

| The ITIL Open Guide has a voluntary ISO 20000 Register. Take a look under ISO 20000. |

| I'm seeking ISO 20K certification for me and it appears I can't even get a copy of the 20K standard for less that $399.00 and the tool kit and standards package is almost $800.00. It this indeed what it's going to cost me? Am I missing something? Seems my Microsoft and ITIL certs were much more economical. What experiences do you folks have getting ISO 20K? I need this certification (my company is no help) for a better understanding of ITIL V3 |

I agree: it is certainly not 'cheap' in terms of cost.
ISO standards are not free, unfortunately. The toolkit contains a whole stack of stuff though that will actually save you money in the long term, and so is a good investment.
Most of the rest of the costs tend to be in terms of applying human resources and extpertise.
What is the cost for you? It depends entirely on your own circumstances and the scope of your certification. It is always wise to take a very close look at scoping at the outset, as it sets the whole exercise. |
